Announcing the BioFrontiers Science Alliance logo competition!-- DEADLINE EXTENDED!

We are looking for a talented CU artist to design a new logo for the BioFrontiers Science Alliance which will be displayed on our website, Facebook and Twitter! The mission of the BFSA is to promote camaraderie and exchange of knowledge between students across the science departments at CU as well as the entire University of Colorado. We seek to develop a community that extends beyond the doors of the laboratory by assisting our members to become more effective at communicating their research to an interdisciplinary audience and to broaden their foundational scientific fluency across departmental divisions. Please keep this in mind when designing your logos! We’re looking for a single logo design in multiple formats. Take a look at the details below for a full list of image sizes.

The winner selected will receive an Amazon gift card!

Submit your work to bfsablog@gmail.com. All images should be submitted as .tiff files.

Facebook dimensions:

Cover photo: 851px wide by 315px high

Profile photo: 180px by 180px. Note: It’s displayed at 160px by 160px

Twitter dimensions:

Profile pic: 400 x 400 px
Cover photo: 1500 x 500 px

Website/advertising logo:

Should be able to fit in nearly the same dimensions as the Twitter profile pic; however, the pixel size for this category is not defined.

Submissions for the contest are due by December 17th.

About the BFSA

The BioFrontiers Science Alliance, or BFSA, is a student organization aimed at promoting interaction, collaboration, and overall camaraderie between each of the science, engineering, and math departments at the University of Colorado at Boulder. We host a variety of activities throughout the academic year, including a fall barbeque, and Science Shorts several times each semester. These activities are open to any students or post-doctoral researchers on the CU-Boulder campus. We are always looking for new writers for Science Buffs! In particular, we are looking for experts in the physical sciences and mathematics who would be able to interpret recent research in those fields for a more general audience. Please contact us if you are interested.

Please include a PDF version or link to your article, as well as any additional information you think may be relevant (i.e., public health relevance, related articles, etc.)
